Wessex Raceway Novices aged 8-13

Wessex Raceway is a family run business now in its 17th year of operation. As a leading member of the National Karting Association, we believe that children should be able to learn to drive petrol karts in a safe and relaxed environment.

We have trained thousands of children since 2002 and are proud to say that we count some of the most successful karting drivers in the region as graduates of the Wessex Raceway Cadet Training programme

Children between the age of 8-13 years receive basic kart training (130cm minimum height applies). We aim to provide an environment in which they can develop their skills allowing them enjoy karting free from any pressure. Each driver will learn kart control at speed, picking the right racing line, pit lane training, rules and regulations.

If your children fit into this age group and have not karted with us before then training is the way to go. If they are experienced or older then please take a look at our Arrive and Drive and party sections.

Training Sessions (Summer Holiday packages available- get in touch)

These last for 1 hour with 30 minutes of tracktime included in the £40 session fee.
 (20 minutes instructor led, 10 minutes fun driving).

Any additonal 10 minute sessions for trainees cost just £6pp.

Accompanying adults just £11 for 10 minutes Arrive and Drive!
Cadet Training is available termtime on Sundays at 11am and School Holidays on selected days- booking essential.

Parents are encouraged to watch from our elevated bar or trackside pit area.

Our new British built BIZ Cadet karts feature a 160cc petrol engine with no limiter which allows children to drive at competitive speeds on our massive indoor track once they have been trained by our friendly and professional staff.
